Great Rainbow Lakenvelder Chicken

A white chicken with black head, neck, and tail feathers, blue legs, and a red comb and wattle stands in the grass, facing right.

Last spring, I ran an adventure with a group of folks new to D&D, and included this creature, which they had to rescue. The idea behind the Great Rainbow Lakenvelder Chicken is a giant creature that lays colored eggs. I went looking for a good picture of the bird I was imagining, and found the Lakenvelder variety on https://starmilling.com/poultry-chicken-breeds/. The last sentence of the description, “These birds will not cuddle with your kids!” seemed like a great contrast to the cute beginning of the adventure. I finally got around to writing up a complete description of the chicken and its stat block. You can download a copy of this creature here. I’ll post the adventure later.
