Welcome to this month’s RPG Blog Carnival!
From struggling seedlings, to hated slimes, to misunderstood dragons, to ttrpg hobby newbies*, it’s not easy being green. I was in the process of writing up ideas for my Rusheniya campaign, which centers around the existence of a dark green element called fellstone, when I volunteered to take this month, and the color was stuck in my head.
So, bring on your stories, advice, and musings about …
- forests under siege,
- threatened gardens,
- misunderstood monsters,
- reused and recycled ideas,
- adventures for low-level PCs,
- ways to introduce new folks to ttrpgs,
- how to encourage or be a new GM,
- or whatever emerald, lime, olive, celadon, mint, pine, phthalo, moss, jade, or chartreuse shade speaks to you.
Post your links in the comments, and I’ll include them all in a glorious green wrap-up at the end of the month!
* In the U.S. someone who is new to something is called “green”, as in they have not yet been weathered or hardened.

perhaps more brown but wth. Currently have a Circle of Spores Druid at my table. We’re both fans of flavor so we changed up her Wild Shape a bit. At 2nd lvl: 1/4 or lower:
Myconid sprout: 2 temp hp, Rapport Spores. Your Halo of Spores can affect creatures with an Intelligence of 2 or higher that aren’t undead, constructs, or elementals. Affected creatures can communicate telepathically with one another while they are within 30 feet of each other.
Twig Blight: 1 temp hp, +1 AC
Shrieker: 3 temp hp, you HoS emits a shriek audible within 300 feet of it. The shriek continues until the target moves out of range and for 1d4 of the turns afterward. More of an alarm than an attack.
Vegapygmy: regenerates 3 hp/round except cold, fire or necrotic damage.
Violet fungus: temp hp up to 18. HoS deals 1d8 necrotic damage.
At 4th:
Myconid adult, 4 temp hp, Rapport spores as a sprout, or Pacifying Spores. You eject spores at one creature you can see within 5 feet. The target must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be stunned for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
or Vine Blight: 4 temp hp, +2 AC, Constrict attack. one target within 10 feet, +2 to hit, 1d6+1 damag and a Large or smaller target is grappled (escape DC 12). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and you can’t constrict another target.
She’s a few month’s behind 8th level but you get the idea.
